PM: ‘We’ve lost, we’ve lost’ - 4.12am
These were the only words which Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi could muster when quizzed on the ruling coalition’s shocking defeat in five states.

Abdullah was posed with the question during a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur. He was accompanied by his wife Jeanne, deputy Najib Abdul Razak and other BN leaders.

The prime minister added that he will make a media statement after analysing the results in detail.
Anwar ushers in ‘a new dawn for Malaysia’ - 4.08am
A triumphant PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim described the victory of the opposition parties in five states and its breach of Barisan Nasional’s two-third majority in Parliament as “a defining moment” in the history of the nation and the opening of “a new chapter.”

“The people have voted decisively for a new era where the government must be truly inclusive and recognises that all Malaysians, regardless of race, culture or race are a nation of one,” he told a packed press conference at his residence in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur.

“The people have expressed in no uncertain terms that they want accountability, transparency, and the rule of law.”
Khalid to meet Selangor sultan soon - 4.05am
PKR secretary-general Khalid Ibrahim said they will meet with the Selangor sultan "soon" regarding the formation of the new state government.

However, he told Malaysiakini that he did not wish to jump the gun when asked whether he would be the new mentri besar. The deputy mentri besar is likely to be DAP’s Teng Chang Khim, who is former state opposition leader.
DAP-PKR-PAS to form gov’t in Perak - 4.01am
The combined opposition of DAP, PKR and PAS said that they will form the new government in Perak. Collectively the three parties have won 30 seats (DAP - 18, PKR - 6, PAS - 6) out of 59 seats. One seat (Teja) is yet to be decided.

However, the opposition still will have a narrow one-seat majority even if Teja goes to BN. About 50 opposition supporters are attempting to seal off the state government building in Ipoh to stop documents from being removed.
Samy says ‘goodbye’ - 3.37am
After defending the seat for nine terms since 1974, MIC’s 71-year-old president S Samy Vellu made a quick exit upon learning his defeat. According to nstonline, on his way out, Samy Vellu could only muster a "goodbye" to reporters and supporters present at the convention hall.

The MIC stalwart lost to Dr D Jeyakumar who has been contesting against him since 1999. In the previous polls four years ago, Samy Vellu defeated the latter with a majority of 10,349 votes. This time around, Jeyakumar, who stood on PKR ticket, garnered 16,874 votes to Samy Vellu's 14,408. Many of his supporters were seen crying when he left the hall.
Unofficial: BN denied two-thirds majority - 2.42am
According to unofficial tally, the opposition has apparently denied the ruling Barisan Nasional its crucial two-thirds majority by winning up to 82 parliament seats so far (PKR - 29, DAP - 28, PAS - 25). To deny the government two-thirds majority, the opposition must win 75 seats. On the other hand, BN has won about 130 seats. There are still a few more seats to be decided.

Pak Lah to meet King on Monday to form gov’t - 2.25am
In a live TV broadcast caretaker Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says he will seek an audience with the Yang di Pertuan Agong on Monday to form the next federal government following BN’s simple majority win in the 12th general elections.

To a reporter’s question on whether the BN coalition would be denied its two-thirds majority in Parliament, Abdullah said: “This is what the people want if they do not want us to have a two-thirds majority.”

When asked whether the massive lost by BN was a vote of no confidence on the government, he said, "I don't see it that way."

He also denied speculations that he would step down as PM in the wake of BN's disastrous performance.

"I don't know who is being pressured (to step down). I'm not resigning," he told reporters at a press conference at the BN operations centre at the Putra World Trade Centre.

G Palanivel loses to PKR’s Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad by a slim margin of 198 votes at the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat.
EC declares simple majority win for BN - 2.20am
Election Commission chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman says BN has won a simple majority to win the 12th general elections and will form the next federal government.
Sothinathan loses Teluk Kemang - 2.15am
MIC deputy president S Sothinathan was defeated in the Teluk Kemang parliamentary seat by PKR’s Kamarul Baharain Abbas in a three-cornered fight which also involved an independent candidate.

MIC appears to be the biggest loser with almost all its top leaders axed, including president S Samy Vellu and deputy president G Palanivel. Also shown the exit was its MIC Youth chief SA Vigneswaran and Women’s wing chief P Komala Devi.
Opposition claims victory in Perak - 1.50am
The state is still too close to call. However, the opposition claimed that it has won a simple majority in the state. According to PKR state chief Dr Lee Boon Chye, the opposition was victorious 30 out of 59 seats (DAP - 18, PKR - 6, PAS - 6).

But the state Election Commission appears to have suffered a computer glitch, which has delayed the announcement of the results.
Perak - Tajol Rosli survives - 1.35am
The caretaker Perak menteri besar defeats PKR’s Lee Sing Long by a majority 4,645 to take the Pengkalan Hulu seat.

Meanwhile, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang retains his parliamentary seat of Ipoh Timur by a massive 21,942 majority. In Kuala Kangsar, Wanita Umno chief Rafidah Aziz polls 10,735, defeating PAS’ Dr Khairuddin Abdul Malik who got 9,277 in Kuala Kangsar.
MIC Youth leader Vigneswaran suffers heavy defeat - 1.30am
The Kota Raja incumbent Vigneswaran polled in 17,879 votes to PAS’ Siti Mariah’s 38,630, losing by a whopping 20,751-vote majority.
BN almost lost Terengganu - 1.28am
The ruling BN coalition has retained Terengganu with a tissue-thin majority of two seats. The final result is BN - 17 seats and PAS - 15.
Mahathir’s son wins in Jerlun - 1.26am
Mukhriz Mahathir obtained a 2,205-vote majority to win the Jerlun parliamentary seat. He obtained 19,424 votes.
Khairy: We suffered a lot tonight - 1.25am
Khairy Jamaluddin, who won the Rembau parliamentary with 5,740-vote majority, admitted that the BN suffered a lot in this general election. “This is not the end of this world. We will fight back,” he said.
Opposition may take Perak as well - 1.20am
Unofficial: The opposition is reported to be on the way of winning close to half of the 59 seats in the state. It has so far won 22 seats and it could pick up a few more. However, it is still too close to call.
Confirmed: Guan Eng is the new Penang CM - 1.01am
DAP confirmed today that its secretary general Lim Guan Eng will be the next Penang Chief Minister. He said that DAP would form the state government with PKR. “It will be a government for all Malaysians. We stress that we will not rule alone but together with PKR. We also hope that the PAS can help this new government”.
MCA president shocked by BN losses - 12.58am
MCA president Ong Ka Ting today expressed shock over the election results which saw the ruling Barisan Nasional losing scores of seats to the opposition.

“The results are shocking because there are several states which BN has lost. However, MCA accepts the decision of the voters because it is their right,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

Ong also added that MCA will conduct a detailed study on the defeat.

DAP’s Karpal Singh eats up Koay Kar Huah (BN) with a whopping 21,015 majority.
Official: Opposition wins big in Kelantan - 12.47am
PAS and PKR won 40 of the 45 state seats in Kelantan, with BN taking the rest. In 2004, the margin was much closer with the opposition having just a one-seat margin against the BN.
Polling agent: Only technical issue to be solved in Lembah Pantai - 12.43am
A technical issue has been blamed for the delay in the delivery of official results from 14 ballot boxes. However the result will remain the same - a win for Nurul Izzah - with no question of a further count.
Official: Wan Azizah retains Permatang Pauh - 12.31am
The incumbent wins the seat with a larger majority of 13, 388 votes. She polled in 30, 338 as opposed to BN’s Firdaus Ismail’s 16, 950. In the three state seats under this constituency, BN took Seberang Jaya while Pas won Permatang Pasir and PKR won Penanti.
Official: BN retains Perlis, Terengganu, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan - 12.28am
The respective state menteris besar officially announced that the BN had retained the state governments in these states.
Unofficial: Opposition wins Selangor - 12.25am
Selangor has fallen into the hands of the opposition. PKR has earlier announced that its secretary-general Khalid Ibrahim will be named chief minister. In Selangor, DAP has taken 35 seats (DAP - 15, PKR - 11 and PAS - 9) out of the 56 seats in the state.

Meanwhile, the opposition is also doing very well in Perak but it is still not clear how many of the 59 state seats it has won. The opposition has so far won Penang, Kedah, Selangor and Kelantan.
Uncounted ballot boxes in Lembah Pantai - 12.12am
IThere are another 14 ballot boxes that have not been counted in this parliamentary seat, throwing a spanner in the victory achieved by PKR’s Nurul Izzah against incumbent Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Guan Eng to be Penang CM - 11.59pm
It is believed that DAP has named party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as the next chief minister of Penang. DAP won all 19 state seats it contested in Penang with PKR winning six and Pas two. There are 40 state seats in Penang.
Official: PKR’s Khalid Ibrahim takes Bandar Tun Razak - 12.04pm
PKR’s Abdul Khalid Ibrahim wins the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat beating BN’s Tan Chai Ho by a majority of 2,515 votes. He has also won the state seat of Ijok, which he had lost in a bitterly fought by-election last year.

The Umno Youth chief beats PKR’s Lee Sang by a majority of 11,570.

MCA president Ong Ka Ting wins the Kulai parliamentary seat while his brother Ka Chuan also wins at Tanjung Malim.
Abdullah says defeat part of democracy - 11.50pm
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that he accepted defeat in three states - Penang, Kedah and Kelantan - a sizable number of parliament seats. He said that was how democracy works and urged everyone to remain calm and not to celebrate in the streets.
Opposition wins 27 state seats in Penang - 11.40pm
The opposition has won 27 out of 40 state seats in Penang - DAP (19 seats), PKR (6) and PAS (2). Of the parliament seats, DAP has seven seats while PKR has three so far.

Joseph Pairin trailing brother, DAP may take KK - 11.08pm
BN’s Parti Rakyat Sabah (PBS) president and Sabah caretaker deputy chief minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan is trailing behind his brother, state deputy PKR chief Dr Jeffrey Kitingan at the Keningau parliamentary seat.

Unconfirmed reports also say DAP has won the the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat through its Kota Kinabalu chief Dr Hiew King Chiew.
Anwar: BN to lose two-thirds majority - 11.02pm
PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim said tonight that early results from the general election indicated the BN would lose its critical two-thirds majority in parliament.

"We have crossed the one-third majority. This is based on information from the candidates from the initial counting," he told AFP. "This is a major victory... and we are moving up very fast towards (winning) 40 percent (of parliament seats)," he said.
Confirmed: Opposition takes Kedah - 10.50pm
Both the PAS and PKR have won 22 out of 36 state seats in Kedah. This means that the combined opposition will form the next state government there. Apart from Kedah, the opposition has won two other states - Kelantan and Penang.

The Barisan Nasional chairperson retains his Kepala Batas by a reduced majority of about 11,000. His majority in 2004 was 18,000.

The Hulu Selangor incumbent has won by a mere 100-vote majority.
Wee Choo Keong takes Wangsa Maju - 10.42pm
Unofficial: Former DAP leader Wee Choo Keong, has won the Wangsa Maju parliament seat in Kuala Lumpur for PKR. He is reported to have won by 500 votes. This will mark the return of the fiery lawyer to Parliament.
BN wins big in Sarawak, only Kuching falls - 10.40pm
BN in Sarawak, with only parliamentary seats being contested, is winning big. Results over RTM as at 10.29pm confirmed that DAP only managed to defend its sole Bandar Kuching seat. BN won Serian, Selangau, Julau, Petra Jaya, Betong, Bandar Sibu, Stampin, Miri and Kota Samarahan comfortably. However, BN only managed to scrap through Sarikei by a 51-vote majority.
Unofficial: Najib wins in Pekan - 10.26pm
Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak retained Pekan with a majority of about 26,000. He defeated PKR rookie Khairul Anwar Ahmad Zainuddin.
Tsu Koon promises smooth transition - 10.25pm
Former Penang chief minister Dr Koh Tsu Koon has promised a smooth transition of power to the combined opposition of DAP-PKR-PAS, which has taken over the state.

State DAP chief Chow Kom Yeow said this was relayed to him by Koh who is also Gerakan acting president. Speaking at a press conference at Hotel Macalister in Georgetown, Chow said Koh told him that the wishes of the people must be respected. DAP has again appealed to its supporters to remain calm.

The information minister has apparently lost Kedah’s Sungai Petani parliamentary seat to PKR’s Johari Abdul by 10,000 votes.
Human rights lawyer Sivarasa wins Subang - 10.16pm
PKR's R Sivarasa wins the Subang parliamentary seat by a majority of 8,000 votes. The opposition has also picked up the three state seats under Subang - Elizabeth Wong (PKR) in Bukit Lancang, Dr Nasir Mohd Hashim (PKR) in Kota Damansara and Khairudin Othman (PAS) in Paya Jaras.
Confirmed: ISA detainee wins with big majority - 10.15pm
Hindraf leader and ISA-detainee M Manoharan, on a DAP ticket, obtained 12,699 votes to win with a 7,184-vote majority the Kota Alam Shah state seat (Selangor).
Confirmed: Tan Seng Giaw retains Kepong with higher majority - 10.10pm
The six-term DAP incumbent obtained 35, 552 votes to win with a 23,848-vote.
Unofficial: Wan Azizah retains Permatang Pauh - 10.05pm
The PKR president and incumbent has won the seat by a 4,000-vote majority.

Unofficial: PAS' Dr Lo' Lo' Ghazali has won the Titiwangsa parliament seat with a majority of 1,972.

Unofficial: DAP candidate Charles Santiago has won the Klang parliament seat with 16,975 votes against MCA's Ch'ng Toh Eng.
Unofficial: Nurul Izzah beats Shahrizat - 9.53pm
According to ground reports, PKR's Nurul Izzah Anwar, Anwar Ibrahim's daughter, has knocked out Umno minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil at Kuala Lumpur's Lembah Pantai. Today is also International Women's Day.
IGP: Don’t spread rumours of riots - 9.53pm
Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan tonight warned that ISA will be invoked against those found spreading rumours of riots and urged those receiving such SMSes to report them to the police. Meanwhile, the opposition has urged its supporters to remain calm.

Unofficial: MIC president S Samy Vellu has suffered a shock defeat at the hands of PSM’s Dr D Jeyakumar for the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat which he has held for nine terms. Jeyakumar polled 16,874 votes to Samy's 14,408. Today is Samy Vellu's 72nd birthday.

A recount is underway in the Rembau parliamentary seat which saw Khairy Jamaluddin taking on PKR’s Badrul Hisham Shaharin.
Kayveas loses at Taiping - 9.40pm
Another BN big gun, PPP's M Kayveas, who is a deputy minister, has lost his Taiping parliament seat. Winner DAP's Nga Hon Ming has told his supporters to have 'zero celebration'.
PAS bags 15 seats in Kedah - 9.29pm
According to PAS organ Harakah, the opposition party has won 15 of the 36 state seats in Kedah, including seats that were considered Umno strongholds. It needs four more seats to win government.
Unofficial: Nurul creates upset in Lembah Pantai - 9.29pm
According to polling agents, Nurul Izzah looks sets to unseat Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in the Lembah Pantai seat.
PKR candidates leading in KL - 9.25pm
Unofficial result: PKR’s Zuraida Kamaruddin defeated BN’s Azman Wahid in the Ampang parliamentary constituency.

Meanwhile, Khalid Ibrahim has taken both the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat where he contested against MCA’s Tan Chai Ho and the Ijok state seat against Umno’s Mohd Sayuti Said.

PKR vice-president Azmin Ali is leading Umno’s Said Anuar Syed Ahmad in the Gombak parliamentary seat, while Nurul Izzah Anwar is leading in Lembah Pantai against Umno's Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Unofficial: PAS concedes defeat in Terengganu - 9.20pm
According to the state’s director of election Mustafa Ali, the party has conceded defeat in Terengganu, paving the way for BN to retain the state.
Opposition supporters told to stay calm - 9.20pm
DAP MP for Bukit Mertajam Chong Eng has advised all opposition supporters to remain calm and not provoke others. She also said they should refrain from having victory parades.

“The Barisan Rakyat must learn how to handle victory or loss with maturity,” said her statement which comes as early polls result indicate a major swing towards the opposition.
Close fight in Terengganu - 9.10pm
Latest report from Terengganu is that Umno and PAS are neck in neck as counting continues in many of the state seats. PAS is said to be leading with eight state seats against Umno's five. At least 17 seats are needed to win the government as there are a total of 32 seats.
Teresa Kok wins with whopping 36,600 majority - 9.02pm
Teresa Kok has won her Seputeh parliamentary seat with an unprecedented 36,564 majority. She also won the Kinrara state seat with a massive 4,901 majority.
Confirmed: Opposition takes Penang - 8.52pm
Unofficial result: The opposition will form the next state government in Penang for second time in history. Gerakan, then an opposition party, won Penang almost 40 years ago. The DAP-PKR-PAS combination has collectively won at least 24 seats out of the 40 seats.
Unofficial: DAP retains Ipoh Barat and three state seats - 8.46pm
Incumbent M Kulasegaran obtained a majority of 1,056 while the three state seats in the parliamentary constituency - Buntong (majority 4,437), Bercham (3,395) and Kepayan (1,382) were also won by DAP.
Tengku Adnan wins Putrajaya - 8.45pm
Controversial minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor retained his Putrajaya parliamentary seat, where most of the voters are civil servants. He bagged 4,038 votes against PAS Mohd Noor Mohamad's 1,304.
Kit Siang: Political tsunami - 8.39pm
This is from Lim Kit Siang’s blog: here is a political tsunami in the 12th general election, with the Barisan Nasional suffering probably its biggest setback in history. From available reports, DAP has won victories, in some cases with huge majorities, in the following parliamentary seats:

In Penang, the three state seats of Tanjong and Bagan have also been won by DAP. Other Penang state seats won by DAP are Air Puteh, Prai, Batu Lanchang, Pulau Tikus and leading in all the other state seats contested by DAP. DAP has also won new state seats in Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Malacca and Johore.

One of the most noted state assembly win is the Sri Tanjong seat of Tawau, Sabah.
Samy trails by 1,300 votes - 8.32pm
PKR’s Dr D Jeyakumar is presently leading by 1,300 votes in Sungai Siput. However there are sill more than 20,000 votes to be counted. Samy Vellu has been the Sungai Siput MP since 1974. Samy Vellu claims today is his 72nd birthday.
MIC Youth chief behind PAS in Kota Raja - 8.35pm
MIC Youth chief SA Vigneswaran is trailing behind PAS candidate Dr Siti Maria Mahmud in the state seat of Kota Raja, which is under the Klang parliamentary seat. Vigneswaran is parliamentary secretary to the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Ramasamy knocks out Koh in Batu Kawan - 8.27pm
Unofficial - Prof P Ramasamy has defeated outgoing Penang chief minister Koh Tsu Koon by a majority of 3,000 votes. Koh is the most senior BN leader to have lost so far.
Sothinathan looks shaky in Teluk Kemang - 8.17pm
As it stands, reports from the ground indicates incumbent K Sothinathan is facing a tough fight against PKR’s Kamarul Baharin Abbas.

Meanwhile Port Dickson’s MIC candidate T Rajagopalu is also facing a tough fight against PKR’s M Ravi and independent Jeeva Kumar Marimuthu.
DAP reclaims Kota Melaka - 8.15pm
DAP has won Kota Melaka, a seat which the party lost in 2004.
Opposition closer to taking Penang - 8.20pm
Having unofficially won 17 of the 40 state seats in Penang, the opposition is currently leading in six other seats with a wide margin. They need to pick up just another four seats to take over government in the island state.
Blogger Jeff Ooi has big lead in Jelutong - 8.15pm
DAP’s Jeff Ooi is leading in the Jelutong parliamentary seat and the party is also leading in all three state seats in Jelutong - Datuk Keramat, Sungai Pinang and Batu Lanchang.
Teresa Kok retains Seputeh, wins Kinrara - 8.03pm
Incumbent MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok has retained her seat with a huge majority of 20,000 votes. She has also won Kinrara, a state seat under Puchong in Selangor.
Unofficial: Opposition on the way to take over Penang - 8.01pm
The combined DAP-PKR_PAS opposition is running hot in the state by winning 17 state seats and needing only another four to form the state government.
Voter turnout tops 70 percent - 7.58pm
At 7.30pm, voter turnout nationwide was reported at 70 percent, but the figure is expected to go up as more information comes in.

Election Commission head Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman.told a press conference in Putrajaya that turnout was highest in Kelantan and Putrajaya (81% each), followed by Terengganu and Perlis (79 percent), Selangor (74 percent) and Pahang (73 percent).

The lowest turnout was for the Federal Territory of Labuan at 59 percent. Generally, about 70-75 percent of voters come out to vote for each general election.

He said that PAS' Nasharuddin Mat Isa has beaten Umno's Awang Adek Husin in Bachok. Awang Adek, who is deputy finance minister, also lost in the state seat of Perupok, which is under Bachok.

甲州关闭养猪场行动一触即发执法人员和猪农昨夜开始对峙

甲州关闭养农场风波一触即发

，自昨日深夜开始已经闹得满城风雨！

各州政府部门的执法人员目前正整装待发准备在今日展开有史以来最大型的拆除养猪场行动

，强行进入瓜拉双溪巴鲁（Kuala Sungai Baru）的20间养猪场

，销毁猪只与拆除猪寮。

目前现场气氛紧张，根据当地猪农代表林亚杰表示，约有千名执法人员包括镇暴部队、市议会执法官员、国能、警方、自愿警卫队以及移民厅官员正严阵以待，驻守在养猪场前，随时准备毁猪拆寮。

而愤怒的猪农则聚集在巴也明光礼堂，准备回应有关当局的进一步行动。执法当局和猪农自昨日深夜开始，就维持着对峙的形势。

猪农报警马华议员夜访首长

尽管3位马华国州议员—马六甲市区国会议员王乃志、行政议员古乃光与佘贵忠昨日夜访首席部长莫哈末阿里的官邸为猪农请愿。但是同意停止拆除行动的莫哈末阿里，却表示负责指挥拆除行动的州秘书电话无法接通，最后只传发3则手机短讯给州秘书，下达停止拆除的指示。

事实证明首席部长的手机短讯无法立即生效。移民局联合自愿警卫团与警方，率先在凌晨3时强行剪破篱笆进入多间养猪场逮捕外劳（左图）。

之后其他州政府单位，包括环境局和镇暴队也分别出动，驻守在农场门口，准备进行毁猪拆寮的工作。

至早上7时截稿为止，执法部队仍未开始拆除猪寮，而数十名猪农则驻守在各主要养猪地点的入口处，仍在设法阻挡执法队伍进入。

以下是事件进展：

9月3日（昨日）早上，警方发函要求巴也明光和瓜拉双溪巴鲁的合法持械人士，将手上的枪械交还给警局进行检查。

下午2时，居民发现数十辆铲泥机和神手被运载至该地区，存放在一些政府机构内。居民也发现政府部门在该地区挖掘了4个大坑，并将坑里的水抽干。

根据《当今大马》的观察，位于该区的阿逸摩力（Air Molek）固体废料中心，就存放了超过16辆神手与铲泥机。

猪农从以上的种种行动推测，州政府正在策划一次大型的拆除养猪场行动，收回枪械是为了避免居民以武器进行对抗，4个大坑则是用来埋葬死猪。这项消息导致瓜拉双溪巴鲁的猪农人心惶惶，纷纷尝试通过朝野政治力量来解决问题。

反对党巫印裔领袖也来支持

由于昨晚下起倾盆大雨，猪农开始聚集在瓜拉双溪巴鲁的大街上的咖啡店一起商讨对策（右图）。马六甲社团领袖如培中校友会主席史进福、甲华青团长房有平，反对党领袖如行动党秘书长林冠英与公正党全国宣传主任蔡添强，以及其他的甲州反对党领袖，也陆续到来声援居民。

值得一提的是，甲州公正党两名非华裔副主席尤索夫（Yusuf Abdullah）和加亚塔斯（S Jayathas）都前来声援猪农。

另一边厢，马华马日丹那区会召开紧急会议，并委派3名马华国州议员前往首席部长官邸与莫哈末阿里商讨此事，要求后者下令取消拆除行动。

今日（9月4日）凌晨1时，在反对党领袖和居民的陪同下，12名猪农前往瓜拉双溪巴鲁报案，指州政府的拆除行动不合法。

根据阿罗牙也市议会在8月21日发出的通告，市议会援引《1974年道路、水沟与建筑物法令》，指养猪场的图测没有获得批准，因此必须在接获通告后的30天内自行拆除养猪场，逾期将被罚款。

对此，林冠英和蔡添强都强调，通告并没有指市议会将拆除养猪场，而且市议会所给的30天期限尚未到期，因此拆除行动是不合法的。

“原则上”同意保留控制排污养猪场

凌晨2时30分，负责与州政府商讨养猪事宜的甲州猪农7人小组主任戴文福（左图）来到警局宣布说，古乃光致电告知他，甲州首长莫哈末阿里“原则”上同意保留拥有完善排污系统的养猪场，只对付那些不愿提升排污设施造成环境污染的养猪场。

不过，莫哈末阿里却无法接通州秘书的电话以下令取消行动，只能发出3则手机短讯给州秘书，也不知道后者是否接获。因此，古乃光感到不放心，要求也是马青马日丹那区团团长的戴文福与猪农一起守夜。

到了凌晨3时，各猪农都接获电话告知，州政府的执法队伍已经拉队前往瓜拉双溪巴鲁区内的3个养猪地区，即武吉波浪（Bukit Beruang）、民乐新村（Man Lok）和武吉文文（Bukit Bumbun），沿着一家家养猪场进行搜查。

这时猪农们显得很紧张，当心多年建立起来的心血将毁于一旦，拼命打电话召来更多支援，一些猪农则开始彷徨，不只要“兵分多路”阻挡3地区的执法队伍，还是集中火力在一个地区。经过讨论后猪农决定集中力量，前往最多养猪场的武吉波浪，准备阻止拆除行动。

但是他们抵达该地区时已经太迟了，由移民局、自愿警卫队和警方组成的百人队伍，已经剪破许多武吉波浪养猪场的篱笆，擅自进入养猪场进行搜查。猪农们只能将汽车并列停在该区的路口，阻止执法队伍离开。

移民局剪破篱笆检举非法外劳

不过，穿上白色太空服与戴口罩，一身毁猪服装的执法队伍却没有拆除养猪场，只是带走养猪场内的所有外劳，要求雇主携带外劳的证件，证明他们不是非法外劳，队伍才肯放人。

人在现场的甲州移民局副助理总监胡先慕沙（Hussein Musa）向媒体表示，此次的搜查行动属于例常检举行动。对于猪农投诉其队员擅自剪破篱笆，慕沙不愿正面回应，只表示将进行调查。

移民局的搜查行动非常草率，虽然雇主还未带外劳的证件前来，但是胡先就已经向媒体宣布，今日的行动没有发现任何非法外劳，因此他将释放所有被逮捕的外劳，此举让在场者都摸不着头脑。

一些猪农相信，移民局原本是拆除行动里的其中一个单位，但是由于拆除行动在最后一分钟搁置，他们把拆除行动改为检举非法外劳行动。

喧闹一番后，移民局队伍在凌晨4时30分离开，大家原以为只虚惊一场，准备各自回家时，瓜拉双溪巴鲁又来了另一队人数庞大的执法队伍，单位包括镇暴队、国能和环境局，这个队伍看起来似乎就是负责拆除工作的人士。

不久后，古乃光和佘贵忠也赶到现场，尝试向执法队伍传达首长的停止拆除行动指示。至早上7时截稿为止，谈判仍未达成协议，暂时也没有任何一家养猪场遭到拆除。

男子襲胸10秒　法官判無罪引爭議

彰化一名男子，趁內衣特賣會，一群婦女大肆搶購時，竟然靠近一名年約20歲女子身後，伸手觸摸女子胸部10秒鐘，女子大喊色狼，並把這名男子扭送警局，不過彰化地院法官認為，襲胸時間短暫，不足引起被害人性慾，判決無罪，檢察官覺得實在太離譜，決定提起上訴。

內衣特賣會場，人潮多又擠，蔡姓男子就是在這個時候，混入人群中，還趁著一名20歲女子忙著挑選內衣時，從後面伸手，觸摸女子胸部，時間長達10秒鐘，男子被依照強制猥褻罪起訴，不過法院竟然認為男子襲胸時間短暫，判決無罪。彰化地方法院發言人許旭聖：「男子並沒有用類似強暴脅迫、恐嚇跟催眠術方法，來做摸胸行為。」

法官認定，男子行為只構成性騷擾，偏偏性騷擾防治法，又是在案件發生後才實施，因此做出無罪判決，但檢察官完全無法認同。彰化地檢署襄閱張慧瓊：「行為人摸被害人胸部，長達10秒，而且有抓捏動作，其實已經該當強制猥褻行為，是很清楚的，所以本署檢察官提起上訴。」

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) began offering tickets for the World Championships to be held at Putra Stadium here from Aug 13-19 from Thursday.

Tickets starting from as low as RM18 (free seating) up to RM38 for the preliminary rounds are available.

Tickets for the quarter-finals will cost from RM28 to RM68 while the semi-finals and finals will be selling from RM41 to RM103.

And the children will not be left out either.

BAM have made available school packages costing from RM8 for the preliminary sessions to RM13 for the semi-finals and finals.

Season tickets are also available and cost from RM41 to RM428.

The World Championships deputy chairman Datuk Mohd Al-Amin Majid said the public can book tickets for the event at the website at www.protonwbc07.com and all the information regarding the seating areas and pricing can be viewed there.

The website was officially launched Thursday and Al-Amin believed they have come up with affordable prices.

轰两马华副部长打压青年人

人民公正党华都牙也区部青年副团长蔡尚群，今日要马华副部长黃锦鸿停止滥用媒体扮友善，粉刷马华与执政党表面亲善对待国内年轻人的一面。他发表文告指出，黃锦鸿也是首位带头利用媒体发言打压《我爱我的国家 Negarakuku (2007大马观光年主题曲)》作者兼网络歌手黃明志的马华中央领袖。

“黃锦鸿此举已经造成国内980万个年龄介于15至40岁的青年人对政府“又打压、又友善”的态度感到越来越混淆。”

根据公青年团的理解，身为我国文化、艺术与文物部第二号人物的黃锦鸿，是首位在黃明志网络爱国作品事件上，公开打压网络歌手的马华中央领袖，黃锦鸿在7月16日向外界说将指示其部门官员调查黃明志作品，并声明会向黃明志采取法律行动。

过后第二位马华领袖即国内安全部副部长胡亚桥（左图），更以恐吓语气提醒所有网络使用者，政府将援引各种法令对付他们。

“黃锦鸿（右图）与胡亚桥的言论，旨在维持一个充满白色恐怖的环境给马来西亚青年，这已长期造成马来西亚新生代失去勇气，不敢跨出来呈现自己富有艺术细胞的一面，不断让他们的创新能力萎缩，如今出现一个来自本土麻坡的网络歌手黃明志，勇于借用网络技术和Rap饶舌音乐呈现社会实情，两位部长却快速打压，实在令广大音乐青年非常失望。”

蔡尚群在此呼吁黃锦鸿与胡亚桥，即刻向所有马来西亚青年表明，他们的言论是否就代表马华对限制网络歌手艺术创作自由的立场。

他认为，黃明志有艺术创作的自由，也有权利选用任何词汇来呈现代表年轻人声音的艺术。公青团更有理由相信，已属成年人的黃明志必然会了解宪法赋予人民言论的自由，也更要人民对自己通过年轻人的管道及方式，所发表的言论负起责任。

歌詞中，黃明志對馬來西亞政府的不滿與抱怨毫不掩飾，不但用「還沒斷奶」來影射馬國土族接受當地政府的保護政策，對於馬來西亞的教育制度也沒忘了批判。

A woman and her husband are out having a few drinks. While they're sitting there having a good time together, she starts talking about this really great new drink. The more she talks about it, the more excited she gets, and starts trying to talk her husband into having one.

After a while he gives in and lets her order the drink for him. The bartender brings the drink and puts the following items on the bar: A salt shaker, a shot of Baileys, and a shot of lime juice.

The husband looks at the items quizzically and the woman explains. "First you put a bit of the salt on your tongue, next you drink the shot of Baileys and hold it in your mouth, and finally you drink the lime juice." So, the husband, trying to go along and please her, goes for it.

He puts the salt on his tongue... salty but OK.
He drinks the shot of Baileys... smooth, rich, cool, very pleasant. He thinks... this is OK. Finally he picks up the lime juice and drinks it. In one second the sharp lime taste hits... At two seconds the Baileys curdles. At three seconds the salty, curdled taste & mucous-like consistency hits. At four seconds it feels as if he has a mouth full of nasty snot.

This triggers his gag reflex, but being manly, and not wanting to disappoint his life, he swallows the now foul tasting drink. When he finally chokes it down he turns to his wife, and says, "Jesus, what do you call that drink?"

The second blonde sheepishly walked out of the office.

The detective turned his attention to the third and last blonde and said, "This is probably a waste of time, but......" He flashed the photo in her face for a couple of seconds and withdrew it, saying, "All right, did you notice anything distinguishing or unusual about this man?"

The blonde said, "I sure did. This man wears contact lenses."

The detective frowned, took another look at the picture and began looking at some of the papers in the folder. He looked up at the blonde with A puzzled expression and said, "You're absolutely right! His bio says he wears contacts! How in the world could you tell that by looking at his picture?"

A new device has been introduced to the marketplace that is a huge danger to anyone who uses a PC that is not theirs. It is known as a key tracker and it sits between the keyboard and the PC. As can be seen in the pictures it is very discreet but is probably one of the most dangerous items of equipment to personal information that is readily available. These devices record every key that is pressed on the keyboard. Due to it's position (it sits between the keyboard and the PC) the information is logged by the tracker before the PC knows about it and as such is very difficult for the PC to detect. They are available in both USB and PS2 formats so pretty much any PC can be logged. The user puts the tracker in line, leaves it there for a set amount of time and then retrieves it. They can then download the data onto their own PC.

If you intend to use a PC that is not yours (ie hotel business centre, internet café, airport etc) I would advise looking at the back of the PC to see if one of these trackers has been placed in line (scrambling under a desk is the better alternative to losing your email details). If you cannot get to see the back of the PC, I would suggest you don't use it for anything personal. If a tracker is there and you do not notice it, whoever placed it there (could be any user of that PC before you) will be able to recall all of your keystrokes - logins, passwords etc.

These trackers cost less than £30 and they are definitely out there already.

(吉隆坡19日訊）國內安全部副部長拿督胡亞橋今日（週四，19日）表示，只要網絡作品的作者是本地人，一旦他觸犯任何法令，政府一定會採取行動對付他。

他說，網友如果因為濫用言論自由而被政府採取行動，他們並不能怪政府。

“假如有關言論會破壞社會和諧，相關人士還是會面對法律制裁，因為這是法治的國家。”

胡亞橋週四為全球觀音大法會紀念筆主持推介禮後，受詢及如果政府不滿網友在外國註冊網站所貼上的作品，他們是否也會受到對付的問題，發表談話。

他表示，網友或網站的擁有人都沒有豁免受到法律制裁的權利。

留台生改編國歌短片受爭議
來自麻坡的留台生黃明志早前因在著名影音分享網站YouTube發表改編國歌《我愛我的國家 Negarakuku》音樂短片內容備受爭議，因此可能惹上牢獄之災。

胡亞橋說，國安部官員目前還未詳細研究有關音樂短片，因此並不確定其內容是否有觸犯任何法令；不過，國安部會關注此事。

他指出，任何人如果隨意更改國歌就是對國家不敬，也顯示有關人士沒有公民意識，這種行徑應該受到譴責。

“我想任何有基本民眾意識及愛國的人都不會這樣做，在甚麼情況之下都要愛國及尊敬國歌。”

文化、藝術及文物部副部長拿督黃錦鴻週三（18日）表示，已指派官員調查有關音樂短片是否有辱國譽；如證實該改編曲含有侮辱國歌成份，將援引國歌法令控告黃明志。

黃明志是以饒舌演唱方式改編《我愛我的國家》音樂短片並上傳該網站。該短片剪輯了大量2007年大馬旅遊年宣傳短片畫面。

算一算我爱我的国家 Negarakuku (2007大馬觀光年主題曲) 这首歌上载至今也将近一个星期了。虽然已被youtube 删除，但仍然非常的受到各界人士的欢迎。对于报道指出隨意把國歌扭曲，甚至荒腔走調演唱，是不尊重國家的舉止。根據了解，抵觸國家法令者，一旦罪成，可面對100令吉罰款或2個星期監禁，或兩者兼施。

不知现在身在台湾的明志本人对于此事会有何对策呢！若政府真的对他发出律师信。那他又会如何应付呢！

，因为在今年3月自创和上传《麻坡的华语》至著名的音像分享网站YouTube而获得60万个点播率而名噪一时。

他最新改编自国歌的音乐短片《我爱我的国家 Negarakuku (2007大马观光年主题曲)》虽然也成为热门点击的影像

，然而文化部副部长黄锦鸿昨日却向媒体表示

，将指示调查有关的歌曲是否有辱国誉，并准备采取法律行动。

黄锦鸿告诉《东方日报》，唱歪或扭曲国歌是一项严重抵触国家法令的做法，而罪成者可面对100令吉罚款或2星期的监禁。

目前在台湾就读传媒系的黄明志，在《我爱我的国家 Negarakuku (2007大马观光年主题曲)》歌曲中，是以饶舌(Rap)演唱方式呈现，除了以国歌作为配乐和副歌之外，更以反讽的方式影射我国警察贪污、公务员工作怠慢、种族政治、人才外流和大马独中生被迫到国外升学等社会现象，引起网友们的“会心一笑”。

黄明志在其长达5分钟45秒的音乐影像中还加插大量的观光广告影片如大马景点地标、地图、三大民族的结婚习俗及生活照片作为背景，并以大马国旗作为背景，清楚展现本身的名字和脸庞，还打出大马观光年主题的旗号作为主题。

傅向红：黄锦鸿反应过敏

时评人傅向红批评黄锦鸿针对此事的反应过敏，显然是不尊敬宪法所赋予的言论自由。

也是新纪元学院媒体系讲师的傅向红认为，官方习惯了过去控制媒体的种种手段，现在却对网络言论自由的出现而显得束手无策，而且过去在马哈迪的时代却又做出了不干预网络的誓言，导致他们对网络上的各种颠覆与挑战权威的举动恨得“心痒痒”。

独立音乐人：马来乐队曾改摇滚版

而独立音乐品牌“扩音版图”创办人麦伟豪在接受《当今大马》的电询时透露，曾经有一些马来摇滚乐队也改编过一些爱国歌曲如Wawasan 2020成为具讽刺性的曲子。此外，也有一些马来摇滚乐队把国歌的节奏改为摇滚版本，并在国庆日的倒数场合上公开演唱。

曾看过黄明志创作的麦伟豪对他的作品给予高度的评估，认为例如《麻坡的华语》有一定可取之处，并成功以通俗和市井的方式呈现出了华语并“没有标准性，只有只有地方性”的现象。

不过，也有看过《Negarakuku》的人士，批评黄明志的作品过于“华人中心主义”，颇不认同他揶揄回教堂祈祷声为早上唤醒人的声音，以及指穆斯林女郎因为戴头巾而过马路太慢，导致车辆必需减速让路的歌词部分。

“不抓新山坏人，竟然要抓我”

而黄明志本身也在部落格上针对黄锦鸿的言论作出回应，质问本身何时“侮辱”了国家，并强调本身所唱的都是反映事实，并质疑政府不去理会新山的治安，并感叹政府不抓新山坏人，竟然要抓他。他坦言对黄锦鸿的说法感到很失望，并炮轰黄氏是“摆明睁着眼睛说瞎话”。

然而他强调，“其实是是非非不重要…很庆幸的是, 我的歌终于被他们重视了!! 其实这样也算是好事一件!!至少坐牢不是白坐的...我爱我的国家, 所以我才爱之深责之切啊...”

另一方面，黄明志也告诉《中国报》说，他并没有污辱国歌。反之，他是以另一种曲风呈献国歌，让更多年轻人喜欢国歌。

他强调，本身没有抹黑政府部门，只是在反映民间对公家机构的反应，把事实讲出来而已。他坦言自已担心会受当局对付，如果身在大马，肯定不敢公开这些创作。

不过在媒体报道传出后，网民也纷纷声援黄明志，当然也不乏警告“老大哥”正在监督的留言。一些网民还甚至把《Negarakuku》的华语歌词一句句地翻译为英文

Don't do this at beach (Bali)

A very painful trip during the way to airport and back to Malaysia. During the time playing and walking at Bali beach is really a very enjoyable and relax action. Nice and beautiful sea view, but your eyes will become very busy to catch out the nice view.

But one more thing you need to remember is to use sun block when you go to beach. The sun block need to be suitable for using in the sea also. For people who didn’t use sun block will having a very good experience after played at beach. The picture (right) showing a smart guy who didn’t use sun block at the beach and get sunburns. After back to hotel, his skin start becomes red and pain. Hands cannot move up and body cannot bend, because those actions will make you feel very painful and can’t even hit by anyone. Who is that guy???? I think all of you will know about this stupid guy who didn’t use sun block. “Dai Sei” HaHaHa.

The body red and pain for at least 4 days, hard to turn when sleep, body can’t simply move left or right, action need to be slow, can’t wear t-shirt because of painful, may not expose to the sun, and blah blah blah.

Really “cham” after back from Bali. Happy and relax during the beach for 5 hours but feel bad and painful for 4 days. Which more worth??? After the painful gone, the skin start shed. Whole body sheds, from head to stomach. Take 1 and a half week to completely shed out.

Then next time, don’t forget to use sun block when you go to beach, else you will same as the fellow above.

Last Day of East Timor Training Trip (Part 9)

Today is our last day at East Timor, we are going to take our flight to Bali soon by 1.35pm.We are wake up quite early today because we will having a small discussion with the director of the TLMDC later.

Before the discussion start, let us having our breakfast first. As usual, we are buying our breakfast at a bread shop call ABU Bakery. We already bought our breakfast there during our first day at East Timor until the last. We eat bread and a rice call nasi kuning every morning. There is the only bread shop we can found at our area, that’s why it become the only choice there.


After the breakfast, we are going to buy souvenir first. Actually we are a bit slow, the souvenir area was just very near to us, not more than 50 feet far from our hotel, but we didn’t realize until the last day when we go. There is a small area to buy our souvenir; i just bought a few souvenirs to proof that I’m there. HeHeHe



After we finish our shopping, the discussion is going to start. This discussion take us 1 hour to finish, we are discussing about the technology which can be improve the development of East Timor.

After the discussion, it’s the time for us to say good bye to all the officer of TLMDC. I’m happy to work with them in this few days. Thanks everyone.

A cold weather of yesterday night. The quilt is not enough to cover the cold. Although today is the last day training for us, but I’m not feel excited because we were already used to it.

Once we reach the training centre that was a big surprise for us. The cover was break and down. How can we start the class without the cover? If the rain attack again, then how can we do? Hopefully the office already searches for a new cover to replace the break one. Come, come, come, lets replace and repair our cover together else we can’t start the class immediately.

After 1 hour hardworking, our new cover is done by the help of our officer and the participants. Thanks to everyone. Our class today is delay 1 hour because of the cover problem. But it seems better now. Ok let us start our last training topic now.



Let see what our lunch meal today, rice with chicken liver and a vegetable. We got sweets after lunch also, not bad ler. It is sweet and taste is good.

A long journey for today too. Our training from 9.00am to 7.00pm again. Very very tired for today because of continues in this 2 days.

We are having our dinner at the training centre tonight. It’s just a very simple meal tonight. But it looks delicious for us because of the whole day training. Although our training teach until night, but our participants still look full of energy in listening to what we are teaching.





After the class was finish, we went back to our hotel. There are some staff still stays at the office to continue the training themselves. But after a while we reach our hotel, it start to rain. From small to heavy, it was a long time rain, from night until morning. Feel very cold tonight.

But let us find out what happen during the raining night. Our training centre got a big problem. The rain protector is down because of the heavy rain. Hopefully some of the staff still in the office, they quickly move all the computers to a safety place which can avoid by the attack of rain.

From 9.00am to 7.20pm, such a long training today. Feel very tired for today. The participant also look tired to attend such a long training today. Every one of them looks tired also. For sunrise until night and still need to prepare the training stuff for tomorrow. Really tired and tired.

Let see our dessert today, I don’t know how to call this also, got potato, banana and sagu(malay). Feel sweet and not bad also. First time trying this kind of food, feel good. We have our lunch with the entire participant and the employee here everyday in the training centre. Everyone looks like under one root, not bad to me to have this kind of experience.

One of my friends asks me why I can’t saw you. Ok here I am, because I’m being a part time photographer here also. That’s why hard to see me in the pictures. One day to one day, today is my 3rd day in East Timor, feel like can accept their life here and I’m trying to get more information about their life and what they usually do. The employee of the TLMDC is very friendly and nice. They treat us very well and want to say thanks to them first.

Sand, storm, and mosquito are easy to fine here. A lot of mosquitos follow me everyday, no matter at training centre or the hotel. But going to used to it soon.

Today are our 2nd days training; participants were come in early than yesterday, so our training was start early today. Our training topic today is How to install File Storage Server.Today training was finish early because the installation of the file storage server taking less time and it’s easy to complete.

The training today is finish after the lunch time which is around 2:00pm. But there still some participants stay to doing the retry or testing here. After the lunch, we are start to preparing the training for tomorrow. We are work until very late because still got a lot of stuff hasn’t finished yet. We have our dinner at the training centre too to finish the preparation.
The people treat us very nice, I’m feel comfortable to work together. We have morning tea time, lunch and afternoon tea break everyday. Although their tea breaks menu is simple but that is good enough for me.

Today is our first day training; we wake up quite early this morning (6.30am) and going to the training centre 1 hour before the training start. After us having our breakfast, the training is going to start. Today got 10 participants attend the training. After a short introduction, our training is start. Our first day training is Internet Gateway. Participant need to learn how to install and edit the internet gateway.

We have a short tea break time after the first section was complete.


After the tea break, our training is continuing until we finish our first day schedule. Although the training was finish, but still got some participants were still stay to discuss the training they learn together.

Day 1 in East Timor

Finally, we reach our destination, East Timor. The time here is 1 hour faster than us. Which means if Malaysia time is 11.10am, at East Timor will be 12.10am. First, we need to meet our person in charge of the workshop/ training this time, he’s name is Ray. He is the IT officer of Timor Leste Media Development Centre (TLMDC). He will also become our translator during the 5 days training.

The city we reach at East Timor is calling Dili. Dili is a small city and you can see a lot of United National (UN) cars and people there. Ray brings us to visit few of their famous places like their sea which very clean and beautiful, mountain to view the whole Dili city, wet market and some of their famous buildings.

After that, we are having our lunch at a Indian’s restaurant. After the lunch, we go to our hotel to drop our luggage first, and then we walk to our training centre which is Ray office to have a look.

Our hotel at East Timor. Our training centre is very near to our hotel, it only needs to walk within 100 feet’s to reach there. Their office is around 55 x 50 square feet’s. Our training place is at the back of the building which just builds up for the training purpose. There are 15 participants take part in this training. All of them are guys and between 20 – 40 years old. This training section include how to install and use the Internet Gateway, File Server Storage, LINUX / UNIX and web server, ftp, mal server and etc.

Although is the first day of us to reach here, we are start our work with preparing all the material for tomorrow training. We did all the preparation before we rest for today.

For additional information, there is one thing that takes my attention which is their internet speed and prices. Their internet was 128 kbps but the price is amazing. How much you guess their internet costing? There is 600 USD which equal to RM2100. Wooooooo…….. That is really expensive and is amazing. In Malaysia, the house use internet speed is already 512kbps to 1Mbps and it only cost us RM77 - RM99. This is the first time I feel the Malaysia internet speed is reasonable if compare to here.

HI Bali, my first day of training trip is reaching Bali first instead of East Timor. We will need to stay one night at Bali and taking the flight on the next day to East Timor. We do like this because this is the cheapest way to go East Timor.

Bali is full of tourists and the food was delicious. After we booking our hotel and took our bath, is time for us to search for our dinner place. We walk for a 10 minutes time to reach our food destination. We are ordered special fried rice with seafood, pork steak, omelet egg, mix satay, coconut and a fresh pineapple juice.

The food was nice and the satay is something which special for us. Their satay are put on a small oven and it looks special. But the disappointed thing was the satay is not really nice. Hm.........

After the dinner, we went back to our hotel directly because we still need to prepare the thing for our presentation next 2 days.

Ko... Ko... Ko... breakfast is came and the taxi will arrive is next 10 minutes. Need to wake up and prepare for our next flight to East Timor. The flight is 10:05am and need to take 1 hour to reach there. OK, see you at East Timor.

East Timor! Where is East Timor??? I receive this answer for many times when I told my friends I’m going to East Timor for a training trip. Is East Timor is an unknown country to everyone??? If you read the news on May 2002 then you will knew more with this place.

East Timor, or the Democratic Republic of East Timor (or East-Lestefrom Malay Timor and Portuguese leste) is a country in Southeast Asia which half of the island of Timor. Their currencies is USD, bacause they don't have their own yet. You can look at the map below to know more of it directory.

Today is my first flight and also the first time for me to go to other country. The first place I going to visit is East Timor which a lot of my friends asking me where is it?

My flight this time is go with Danny (my tech manager) to East Timor to have a training section over there. This a one week trip, from 16 June to 24 June 2007. Our flight today (16 june) will be reach Bali (Indonesia) first and stay there for one night. Next day (17 June) will have another flight to our destination East Timor.

We will having a 5 days training section at East Timor start from Monday (18 june) to Friday (22 June) which giving training to the peoples from East Timor. We provide them the knowledge of internet gateway, file storage server, Linux/Unix and so on. Hope can finish the training succesfully.

'I know people who work 12 hours a day, six days a week, or more. Some people do so because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary. Other people I know have put in these hours for years!!! I don't know if they are working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long. Others put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace.

Whatever the reason for putting in overtime, working long hours over the long term is harmful to the person and to the organization. There are things managers can do to change this for everyone's benefit. Being in the office long hours, over long periods of time, makes way for potential errors. My colleagues who are in the office long hours frequently makemistakes caused by fatigue. Correcting these mistakes requires their time as well as the time and energy of others. I have seen people work Tuesday through Friday to correct mistakes made after 5 PM on Monday.

Another problem is that people who are in the office long hours are NOT pleasant company. They often complain about other people (who aren't working as hard); they are irritable, or cranky, or even angry. Other people avoid them. Such behaviour poses problems, where work goes much better when people work together instead of avoiding one another. As Managers, there are things we can do to help people leave the office. First and foremost is to set the example and go home ourselves. I work with a manager who chides (scolds) people for working long hours. His words quickly lose their meaning when he sends these chiding group e-mails with a time-stamp of 2 AM, Sunday. Second is to encourage people to put some
BALANCE in their lives. For instance, here is a guideline I find helpful:

1) Wake up, eat a good breakfast, and go to work.
2) Work hard and smart for eight or nine hours.
3) Go home.
4) Read the books/comics, watch a funny movie, dig in the dirt, play with (your) kids, etc.
5) Eat well and sleep well.

This is called recreating. Doing steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 enable step 2. Working regular hours and recreating daily are simple concepts. They are hard for some of us because that requires 'personal change'. They are possible since we all have the power to choose to do them. In considering the issue of overtime, I am reminded of my oldest son.

When he was a toddler, if people were visiting the apartment, he would not fall asleep no matter how long the visit, and no matter what time of day it was. He would fight off sleep until the visitors left. It was as if he was afraid that he would miss something. Once our visitors' left, he would go to sleep. By this time, however, he was over tired and would scream through half the night with nightmares. He, my wife, and I, all paid the price for his fear of missing out.

Perhaps some people put in such long hours because they don't want to miss anything when they leave the office. The trouble with this is that events will NEVER stop happening. That is life !! Things happen 24 hours a day. Allowing for little rest is not ultimately practical. So, take a nap. Things will happen while you're asleep, but you will have the energy to catch up when you wake.

Hence 'LOVE YOUR JOB BUT NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY'. Live a life like you should and love ... you only live once in this role of life.'

English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

For those who've forgotten that they've had this before, well it goes around ....

He was tired and aching and on his way home from a long day at work, so he almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His old Pontiac was still sputtering as he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "Pass it on."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan ..

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "This isn't a tip, it's a gift. You don't owe me anything. Somebody once helped me out and if you feel you want to pay me back, don't let this chain of love end with you, pass it on."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it to closing time.

That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard....

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a gentle kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport.

As she had to wait for hours, she decided to buy a book and to spend her time. She bought a packet of cookies too.

She sat down on a armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace

Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies ware kept, a man sat down, opened his magazine and started reading.

When she ate the first cookie, the man took one also. She felt infuriated but didn’t say anything. She just thought: “What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would punch his eye so that he does not forget this daring!”

To each cookie she ate, the man ate another one too. That was letting her fume up with rage but she couldn’t react.

When only one cookie remained, she thought: “ah… What will this abused man do now?”

Then, the man takes the cookie and divided the last cookie through the middle, giving her the other half.

Ah! That was too much! She was too angry!
Then, she caught her book, caught her things and headed to the boarding place.

How to play Mahjong – Part 5

The first player will have 14 tiles and the following players are 13 tiles. Why the first players have to take 14 tiles? This is because the first player will need to throw one of his/her unused tiles out on the table for the others player. Players can decide to “chow” , “pung” and “kang” . But only the next player can “chow” , the third and forth player can only “pung” and “kang” .

Below is the explanation of “chow” , “pung” and “kang” :

“Chow” : Consists of 3 tiles. Player need to use 2 of his/her tiles which need to be a sequence number of the tiles which throw by previous player and it must be in the same type.

“Pung” : Consist of 3 tiles. Player need to use 2 of his/her tiles which must be exact same type of tile.

“Kang” : Consist of 4 tiles. Player need to use 2 of his/her tiles which must be exact same type of tile.

How to play Mahjong – Part 4

Right now, let us discuss and investigate about the way to start a mahjong game. The picture below showing a four players mahjong matches. Each player sit a side of a table which mean “East” , “North” , “West” and “South” . The first player who throws the dice will be the “East” . Mahjong game will be start will counter-clockwise, which continues by the second player which is “North”. But the tiles will be taking follows clockwise. The player who gets wrong in getting tiles will not able to win the mahjong match.

Before the mahjong match start, players need to adjust and push the tiles to confuse the tiles to others.

The mahjong will be start with the first player and continue to the second players.

Once the dices is throwing, player need to count the total number of the dices in order to start to take the tiles. All tiles are facing down, no one is able to simply open it or take it. Players need to follow the sequences and the rules of the mahjong during the match. The starting player needs to take 4 tiles in the first time, and the following of player will be taking the same amount of tiles. Each player will need to take 3 times of 4 tiles with 12 tiles. After that, the first player needs to take 2 more tiles with jumping. What it mean by jumping, it means the first player need to take the first and third above tile, and then the second player will take one tile and following by third and forth player with taking one tile also.

How to play Mahjong – Part 3

According to the previous post (How to play Mahjong – Part 2), most of the people have the understanding about the Mahjong already. From now, let me explain how to play Mahjong and the rules we need to follow.

Mahjong need to be play by 4 people in one table. Basically Mahjong is not very hard to learn, but need very experience in order to win the game. Lucky is also one of the things that need when playing Mahjong. To play a complete Mahjong, players need to prepare a square table which suitable for use of 4 players.

Before the game start, each player need to throw the dice (3 dice will be use in mahjong) to select who will be the first person to throw. The highest roll person will take the first place which is “East”, and then the following higher number will be the ”North”, the third person with ”West” and the last with ”South”. The wind tiles for each player is depend of the site they are. Which means the first player who is “East” can be throw the dice in the particular game.

Players need to complete all 4 wind place in a Mahjong game. The first wind place is “East”, second is “North” and the following are “West”, and then the last one is “South”. Each player got a chance to throw the dices in a circle / round. After the last player of the round throw already, then that round will be end and the wind place of that round will be terminate and change to the next one which is ”North” and soon. The player who throw the dice and win on a particular game will have a chance to throw the dice again.

How to play Mahjong – Part 2

A set of Mahjong tiles will be different from place to place. Each of the Mahjong tiles having different meaning. Let us find out what exactly a set of Mahjong tiles have.

108 suit tiles which consist of 36 of Dots tiles, 36 of Bams tiles and 36 of Characters tiles.

Dots

Each tile of dots consists of a number of circles. Different dots tile consist of different number of circle and are start from 1 to 9. We also call dots as “Tong” in mandarin.

Bams

Bams can also call as lines or Bamboos stick. It consists of 1 to 9 lines or bamboos stick in each bam tiles. Bams so call “Suo” in mandarin.

Characters

Name of each character tiles represent ten thousand or “Wan” in mandarin.

28 honors tiles which consist of 16 of Wind tiles and 12 of Dragon tiles.

Winds

Wind tiles consist of East tiles, South tiles, West tiles and North tiles. In mandarin, the wind tiles is call “Dong”, “Nam”, “Xi” and “Pei”.

Dragons

Dragon tiles consist of 3 different characters which are red tile (“Zhong”), green tile (“Fa”) and white tile (“Pai”)

8 bonus tiles which consist 4 seasons and 4 different animals

Flowers

Flower tiles consist of 4 seasons and 4 different animals. You can also add 4 more flower to play more fun.

How to play Mahjong – Part 1

Before we start to learn how to play Mahjong, first get yourself a set of Mahjong to see what tiles in the Mahjong and the meaning of each tile. Each Mahjong set price is around USD40 (cheapest price) to USD150++ or in Malaysia price with around RM120 to RM500++. OK, let us start the training now;

A full set of Mahjong consists of 144 tiles which include 108 suit tiles (character tiles, dots tiles & line tiles), 28 honors tiles (wind tiles & dragon tiles) and 8 bonus tiles. Each of the tiles having different meaning, to able to win a game, we must make sure all the tiles we have are match to each others in order to win a game.

Simple Knowledge and Understanding of Mahjong

Mahjong is a four player’s game. It must be played with four players on a table and the game is goes around a circle. Each player got a change to draw a card from the tiles on table in a round of anti-clockwise circle and player can organize their titles into a winning format or so call winning hand to win the match. If the tiles haven’t get to the winning format, then player will need to throw one of the tiles or so call cards from their set of tiles they have.

Mahjong can be playing in many different ways. For those people who are just starting to play mahjong, they are choose to play in an easy way which is make your titles into a winning format and game the match. In this method, players no need to make their tiles to earn any point to match the game. They only need to make sure their tile is in a winning format.

For mature players, they are choose to play in points earn method. The meaning of point’s method is players need to organize his/her tiles into a winning format with getting points. The points that a player earns will consider the mark that he/she will get. Rules of point earning will be formatted by the players themselves. There are many way to earn a single point from tiles. A mature player will organize their tiles in a way to earn more points to win more marks.

Mahjong is a very strategy, flexible and varies games. In order to become an expert or professional player, more practices and strategy mind and thinking is important. But it also need a bit of luck with you to get a good and wonderful tile on your first get the tiles and luck in the turn of draw cards.To be continue..................

Mahjong created since 4000 years before. During that time, Chinese aristocrats were the only people who know to play the game. Mahjong is a very mystery and interesting game and the rules of mahjong is fantastic. When the times China become a republic since 1911, Mahjong become a public knowledge of the world. The Mahjong is introduced to United States in 1920. With a short time, Mahjong becomes very famous and extending in the whole country. Unfortunately, Mahjong was played with different rules and become not standardized. But fortunately, during the year 1925, a standardized set of Mahjong rules was set. The standardized set of rules have been make the Mahjong become more fantastic and a lot of people would like to play Mahjong to spend their holiday or during the gathering.
